NOTARIES FEES
Schedule of Maximum Fees for Notarial Acts in Victoria as prescribed by the Society of Notaries to operate on and after 1 May 2002. The fees do not include GST
$
1. 1.1 Attesting execution of affidavit or document by 1 person
Including completion of jurat or testat and sealing 70.00
1.2 For each additional person 35.00
1.3 For preparing and completing an exhibit note 40.00
1.4 For completing an exhibit note prepared by others 30.00
2. Preparing and completing a certificate as to swearing or execution 100.00
3. Completing and sealing a certificate provided by others in print 50.00
4. 4.1 Verifying copy documents up to 10 pages and providing certificate 100.00
4.2 Plus, for additional copies, per page examined 15.00
5. Special certificates, certificates as to Australian law, foreign law,
certificates of good standing of corporations and other certificates not in standard form:
5.1 Time spent in research, verifying material for inclusion, interviewing parties and
directors and drawing the certificate (per 6 minutes) 30.00
5.2 Preparing and completing the certificate 150.00
5.3 For each folio of the certificate after the third 35.00
6. Bills of Exchange
6.1 Noting, entering in register and supplying copy of entry 150.00
6.2 Presenting bill - if done by the notary (per 6 minutes) 30.00
- if done by the notary's clerk (per 6 minutes) 15.00
6.3 Protesting a bill including all necessary steps 150.00
7. Ship's Protests
7.1 Preparing and attesting ship's protest including 3 copies 350.00
7.2 Extension of ship's protest 350.00
8. Duplications
8.1 For the first ten copies after the original Half the prescribed fee
8.2 For those after the tenth copy One quarter of the prescribed fee
9. For time spent by the notary in research, perusal of documents, interviews, taking
instructions, drawing documents other than certificates such as statutory declarations
and affidavits, obtaining the advice of counsel arising from notarial issues and all
activities of an unusual or difficult nature, charges at the rate of $30 per 6 minutes
Notes:
1 . The above fees include, where applicable, incidental attendances by the notary or the notary's clerk, to make appointments, give instructions and the like.
2. Out of pocket expenses and travelling costs are to be charged in addition to these fees.
